AFF Melbourne makes use of modern training equipment and advanced training techniques to put you in control of your skydive on the very first jump.
The two day training course will be your launch-pad to your first freefall skydiving in Melbourne where you’ll go straight to 10,000 feet with two instructors beside you to make sure you enjoy your first skydive experience safely.
The AFF skydiving training method has nine stages with each jump teaching you more skills on how to fly your body through the air. You’re in charge of the parachute ride too as you fly your parachute under the guidance of an instructor to landing.
On arrival day 1: You will be introduced to your course instructor who is a highly experienced and accredited person within the Australian Parachute Federation whom throughout the day will cover a broad range of topics all designed to make your jump as safe and memorable as possible. Classroom lessons where you will learn what will be required of you as well as practical work covering safety and what to do whilst in freefall, under canopy and landing.
At the completion of day 1: You will be required to sit a multiple choice exam from which you will then cover some of your requirements for your first jump sequence that will be take place on the second day.
On arrival day 2 (Sunday): Once your exam has the tick of approval we move into some additional ground training from which point you will be introduced to the Accelerated Freefall skydiving instructors that will be accompanying you on your jump. After a final run through and checks, we go and skydive.
Stuff You Need To Know- Freefall Skydiving

- Dress Code – something comfortable you would wear to exercise outside, and sports shoes.
- Weight – maximum weight is 100kg.
- Once you’ve completed the nine stages of the Solo Skydiving Jump course in Melbourne, you’ll have your “A” license and you’ll be ready to enjoy the exciting new world of skydiving!

Accelerated freefall (AFF) certification courses are designed to make the process of learning how to skydive much easier and simpler. In this course, you will learn to jump from up to 14,000 feet. Your instructors will help you learn how to maintain grips and how to operate the parachute harness and other skydive equipment.
The AFF Skydive course is 6 to 8 hours long in which you will learn to open and fly using the parachute. Your instructor will assess your performance and once you pass you will be qualified to go skydiving all by yourself.
